Community Partnerships

Austin Child Guidance Center (ACGC) was built on partnerships, collaborations, and engagement with the community. We are proud to continue that legacy to create positive, lasting change for individuals, families, and the wider community.

We are a center of training and learning, engaging interns from a variety of disciplines, and providing training to hundreds of professionals every year.

The following is a list of our current community partners and institutions with which we have frequent engagement. If you are interested in developing a professional partnership with Austin Child Guidance Center please contact info@austinchildguidance.org for more information.

Trauma Informed Care Consortium of Central Texas (TICC)

ACGC led the Trauma-Informed Care Consortium of Central Texas (TICC), from its inception to its close. This group of over 100 organizations convened quarterly and offered presentations and trainings on topics including developing anti-racist practices in organizations as well as various evidence-based treatments for children and families. After nine years of educating the community, providing assessment tools, hosting events, and supporting agencies in pursuing systems-level change, TICC came to a close in 2022.

ACGC encourages organizations to connect with PACES Connection, a national group that focuses on trauma-informed resources.

Community Partners for Children

Community Partners for Children (CPC) is a collaboration that provides intensive case management to children and families who have multiple needs that cannot be met by one agency. This collaboration (formed from a merger of three previous entities – Community Resource Coordination, TRIAD, and the Eligibility Referral Team of the Children’s Partnership) serves any Travis County child/teenager whose problems are too extensive for one agency alone.

ACGC staff provides consultation and outpatient mental health services, psychological assessments, and psychiatric evaluations.

Children's Victim Recovery Project

This program assists children and families recover from the psychological effects of crime, violence, and abuse. Children or adolescents who have been victims or witnesses to crime or violence may be eligible for no-cost therapy services. Funding is provided by grants from the Office of Texas Attorney General and the Office of the Governor Criminal Justice Division.

Infant and Early Childhood

The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Project (IEC) is a United Way for Greater Austin and Travis County Health and Human Services funded project.  The overarching goal is to promote the social and emotional health of children so that they are prepared for school and future success.  Additionally, this project also focuses on educating and providing guidance to childcare staff and parents on infant and childhood development.

TANDEM

The TANDEM Teen Prenatal and Parenting Program is designed to promote the health and well-being of young families and reduce their risk of subsequent unplanned pregnancies.  Medical, educational, and psychosocial support is provided to low-income young parents and their children from pregnancy through the first three years of their baby’s life.
